WHAT IS QUANTUM MINDS?
The Quantum Mind Summer Institute is a two-week educational, residency and social experience happening August 2–17, 2026 on the University of San Diego campus. We’re inviting 50 participants worldwide.
More and more scientists are taking the hypothesis seriously that the mind uses quantum mechanics create free will, and an integrated sense of being.
We’re bringing together a multi-disciplinary scientific community of learners and researchers to advance the field of quantum consciousness. We seek scientific rigour to the hard problem of subjective experiences—such as how and why to do we feel pain, love, see red, or taste coffee. Why does it feel like something to be us at all?

SEEKING EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE
Third-or-fourth year undergrad, Master’s, or PhD students who want to pursue deeper studies in consciousness, cognition, or agency with a quantum framing.
Post-doctoral researchers and early career faculty who want to advance quantum consciousness research or education
As important as credentialed scholars, we’re looking for deep, lively, and original thinkers. Participants will be drawn from the sciences as well as from philosophy, AI and the arts.
All will share a restless curiosity and openness to discovery. Applicants will be asked: Why do you wish to participate in QMSI? How would you like to contribute to the success of the institute? Do you have any unique qualifications or specialties?
YOUR PACIFIC CAMPUS EXPERIENCE
If you are one of the 50 participants chosen, you will be learning, living and socialising on the beautiful University of San Diego campus with its unique Spanish renaissance vibe. Some scholarships will be available for travel, residence, and meals.
Students will complete 30 hours of pre-reading and engage in 3-4 hours of daily lectures, leaving space for informal discussion, reflection, and collaborative exploration—where the real breakthroughs are likely to happen.
In addition to classes, participants will be invited to meet with leaders of the Quantum AI community; attend a short research conference/symposium; and join in social events.
